Are you ready?
UKGC Testing Strategy for Compliance with Remote Gambling and Software Technical Standards
As a B2B supplier or B2C operator holding a UKGC Licence you need to be ready for the UKGC changes in requirements.
The “Remote Gambling and Software Technical Standards” (RTS) details the specific technical controls and security requirements that licensed remote gambling operators and gambling software operators need to meet.
Following a consultation process that started in the Autumn of 2015, the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) have recently updated the “Testing Strategy for Compliance with Remote Gambling and Software Technical Standards”. The document is a companion to the “Remote Gambling and Software Technical Standards” (which details the specific regulations for UK online testing). Whilst the technical standards (RTS) remain the same, this update, to the testing strategy has resulted in a significant change in the scope of testing.
While annual re-certification (as is expected for Italy or Denmark for example) is not required, the new requirements are non-trivial and cover these main aspects:
- To check a random sample of changes/updates to ensure they were correctly assessed and did not require external testing (minor vs major changes)
- To confirm that the license holder has adhered to change controls
- To confirm that the list of games offered corresponds with the UKGC’s records
- To confirm an adequate RTP monitoring system and controls in place.
NMi are here to help you meet these new requirements.
We have extensive experience within jurisdictions that already implement equivalent regulations and our regulatory team have a full understanding of the new requirements.
